The Finnish handset maker Nokia has always shown its concern towards providing better environment conditions and is making all efforts to conserve the ecology of this planet. As part of their commitment towards nature conservation Nokia has under taken many programs that ensures that they maintain and preserve ecology of this planet. Nokia mobiles are always known for their user friendliness and now will also be known for their eco friendliness. Nokia will now be producing all eco friendly mobile devices and accessories. As part of it Nokia will be using only those materials for manufacturing their mobile devices that are approved by the environmental board which have been tested and have proven their sustainability.

Nokia is planning to make their devices more energy efficient, and use smaller lighter and recyclable packing methodologies. Nokia is also selling various application and services under their Green Channel program. Nokia will also include Eco profile which gives the user all the information about the energy levels used by the device, packaging, and materials used for manufacturing the device. Nokia will also educate their users about the disposal methodology and environmental impact if specified norms are not followed for proper disposal. If we look at the material used for manufacturing Nokia devices, the plastic is totally reusable plastic, or the same plastic can also be used for energy generation. Nokia is ensuring that they make maximum usage of available resources without exploiting natural resources. Nokia is one of the foremost companies which have used bio plastics in making of Nokia 3110 Evolve. Nokia is also one of the pilot mobile manufacturing companies that have used bio paints and recycled metals for making their mobile devices.
Nokia is one of the first company to produce energy efficient phones, and Nokia is the company that introduced the concept of alerting the user to unplug the charger. The company is also responsible to for providing valuable tips on energy saving to its customers. Nokia uses recyclable plastic for its packaging. The plastic used for packaging has 90 percent of recycled content. Nokia is the first company who has introduced small and compact packaging concept in the mobile industry and this trend is followed by most of the companies in the mobile manufacturing industry. Apart from being energy efficient, Nokia mobiles are also very price efficient, if we look at Nokia 808 PureView price, this phone is available for Rs. 29, 500, in spite of having high end features. Nokia Lumia 610 price is not known yet, but it will also be very cost effective mobile device.
