Nokia 108, the company's cheapest camera phone

The Finnish technology giant, Nokia is all set to launch a new feature phone to its portfolio. The device is dubbed as the Nokia 108 and it is said to be start shipping in Q4 this year. Officially, the Nokia 108 price has been placed at Rs. 2,499 approximately, excluding local taxes and subsidies. It is also planning to unveil a dual SIM version of this smart handset and it is now listed on the company's official website. It seems the company is following on the success formula of the Nokia 105 which is also loaded with an abundance of features, including a VGA camera. Technology experts say that this device with a low price tag will be more affordable to millions of people worldwide who are in search to buy their first camera phone. Speaking at this launch event, Timo Toikkanen, executive vice president, Mobile Phones, Nokia mobiles, has stated that the company is well known in this low feature phone segment and by adding this new feature phone, we continue to connect millions of people. We aim to ring new mobile experiences to ever-lower price points, this feature phone will be an evidence of this commitment. It will be an ideal option for those who require an additional phone. Key highlights of this handset is its camera. It comes with a VGA camera and will be available in the company's signature Black, Cyan, Red, White, and Yellow. This rear camera is great for snappers which is capable of capturing images in 640 x 480 pixel resolution. Both the handsets will come similar except the dual SIM option. It comes with dimensions 110.4 x 47 x 13.5mm and weigh 70.2 grams.
In terms of display, the Nokia 108 features a 1.8 inch display supporting with QQVGA resolution of 128 x 160 pixels. At this price tag, we can't expect more. The company uses a 4MB of RAM on-board, and it also offered with an expandable storage support via microSD card. The phones are based on Nokia's Series 30+ software, which is really impressive. To power this phone, it is fitted with a 950 mAh BL-4C model battery which will be delivering a maximum standby time of 31 days and a maximum talk time of 13hours and 8 minutes. It is also capable of offering a maximum music playback time of 40.8 hours. It also features Bluetooth connectivity and the company owned Slam functionality.
