These phones are specially targeted on booming markets such as India. Despite its robust planning and feature-loaded approach, Samsung mobiles are going to have a strong competition from Nokia mobiles. Nokia mobiles have a strong hold in this region. Nokia mobiles have already released Asha series in the same segment, which are designed by keeping in mind the changing trends of market.
Samsung REX 90 is a phone with smart features clubbed with cost effective price range. Samsung REX 90 stands out in all the phones launched in this segment by Samsung mobiles. Samsung REX 90 runs on Java platform which takes advantage over Nokia Asha 311, which runs on S40 platform. Samsung REX 90 looks like a good competition to Nokia Asha 311, which boasts to be best Nokia mobile in the whole Nokia Asha Series.
Samsung REX 90 price is around Rs 6,400 and Nokia Asha 311 price is around Rs 6,000. As both the phones are touch screen devices therefore screen size would be first and foremost difference in them. Nokia Asha 311 features a 3-inch capacitive display with 400x240p resolution, whereas Samsung REX 90 features 3.5 inch capacitive with 480x320p resolution (HVGA display). Size of Nokia REX 90 is 113 x 61.9 x 11.9mm and Nokia Asha 311 is 106 x 52 x 12.9mm. Samsung REX 90 has borrowed its traditional design aesthetics from Samsung mobiles. Its curved edges and clean look resembles that of Samsung Galaxy S3. It is comfortable to handle and easy in pocket. With Nokia Asha 311, Nokia mobiles render a fresh and new look. A chrome strip at bottom end has the home, power and call buttons and this gives it a unique form. Though, it is a bit thicker and smaller than Samsung REX 90, but it is very much comfortable to handle and use. It is a much different look with stylish colours and chrome strip. Here Asha 311 has a plus point. Samsung REX 90 has a basic processor without 3G, whereas Nokia Asha 311 has a 1GHz processor with 3G.Both devices boost of a 3.2-megapixel camera which is without auto focus and flash light, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi support and music support, though Nokia is a clear winner because of larger repository of songs. Overall, Nokia Ash 311 stands out as a winner, but Samsung REX 90 is also a good phone.
