Samsung Corby also known as Samsung S3653 Corby was released in September, 2009 with a price tag of $237 and $228 respectively. The Nokia C5-03 is still awaited in India. The Nokia C5-03 has got 2G GSM and 3G HSDPA network and this model is around 93g. But the Samsung corby only has a 2G GSM network and weighs 90g which makes it the lighter. Further more, the Nokia has TFT resistive 3.2 inches touch screen while the Samsung has a TFT capacitive 2.8 inches touch screen.
Nokia C5 phonebook memory can accommodate an unlimited number of entries while the Samsung Corby is limited to only 1000 entries. The newer Nokia C5-03 has an internal storage of 40 megabytes with and it has one card slot that can house a micro SD of up to 16 gigabytes and 2 gigabytes is included. On the other hand, the much older Samsung S3653 Corby has an internal storage of 68 megabytes with one card slot that can house a micro SD of up to 8 gigabytes in size. In terms of data, the Nokia can support GPRS, EDGE, 3G and Wi-Fi connectivity while Samsung can only support GPRS and EDGE connectivity but neither 3G nor WLAN Wi-Fi. Both phones have Bluetooth and cameras with the Nokia tilting the scale with a 5MP while the Samsung only offers a 2MP.
In the features section, Nokia C5-03 has the usual Symbian Operating system version 9.4 with a central processing unit (CPU) processor of 600 megahertz while Samsung Corby comes with the Touch Wiz Operating system which is fast. Both the phones have one stereo FM radio and MP3, MP4, WMA, WAV players but Corby lacks GPS. The C5-03 can come in an array of colors such as graphite black, Lime green, Petrol blue or Aluminum grey while Corby comes in flashy colors such as Jamaican yellow, cupid pink, Minimal white and Festive orange. They both have standard Li-Ion batteries with Nokia having a talk time of 11h, 4h and Samsung having a talk time of 9h.
In Overall, Nokia C5-03 comes up superior even though its processor speed is said to be slower as compared to the Samsung S3653 Corby due to the better features and specifications. The Corby is mainly designed with the youth in mind, especially due to the bright colors, simple interface and long lasting capacitive screen but has a very poor camera and no on-screen keypad.
